One Young Woman Experiences with Love, Loss

MIAMI, June 11, 2003 (PRIMEZONE) -- Only by exposing her innermost
feelings could poet Adriana Echeverri create a book of poetry such
as A Tangled Heart (now available through 1stBooks). Through her
powerful, vivid style, Echeverri writes about her experiences in
life and love, offering her lessons learned.
She writes of long-lasting passionate nights, intense mornings, life
despite hardship, the loss of love and many other topics -- all events
she has experienced. Writing from a serenely honest point in herself,
this 25-year-old conveys her experiences in love at an age where
finding oneself and falling in love can create confusion while making
life exhilarating and fulfilling.
Through the tumultuous times she has endured, she walks away with
strength and hope she shares through her work. This openness, mixed
with her mesmerizing style and Hispanic perspective, gives the reader
a glimpse into one woman's feelings while relating hers to their
own.
In "Have Fallen," she writes of the repeated challenges
of life: "I have fallen/ Back on my feet I stand before you/
With open arms to more challenges/ And a wider view on reality/ I
belong not to you, but to my strength/ Life: I stand here before
you once again/ Ready to live without fear/ To accomplish what I
didn't yesterday/ With faith I will climb the highest mountains/
And hope will conquer my dreams/ I have fallen/ But here I stand
once again."
Born in Medellin, Colombia, she moved to the United States with her
mother and younger sister after traumatic experiences in Colombia
shortly after her father was killed in Colombia. Currently Echeverri
is attending college and studying psychology. A resident of Miami,
Echeverri hopes to travel and reach out to others through reciting
her poetry.
